PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & MEMBERSHIPS

Brain Injury Management Diploma.
I am a registered nurse and have over 25 years clinical experience.
I prepare medico-legal expert reports on nursing care. My extensive clinical experience means that I am qualified and experienced to assess the needs of individuals with a wide range of disabilities.
I trained at The London Hospital, Whitechapel and have experience working both in hospitals and in the community. This includes working in acute surgical settings, cardiac wards and geriatric care. I spent several years working in a residential centre offering rehabilitation and long term respite care for those with neurological conditions. The clients had a range of complex issues, those whose injuries where so catastrophic they were in a persistent vegetative state to those whose rehabilitation would return them to their homes and families. All clients required 24-hour nursing care.
I have worked as a rural community nurse with both adults and children with a range of disabilities and illness, including spinal injuries, cerebral palsy, elderly care, terminal illness and post-operative clients all who require delivery of skilled nursing care in accordance with policies/procedures and individual care plans.
I have extensive experience in the many different problems that the brain-injured patient and their families face, be they physical or psychological problems.
I case manage many clients that require 24-hour care and have directly recruited their care teams and have a sound understanding of the need to comply with employment legislation and health and safety.
In addition to my role as an expert witness I am a Lead Case manager for an award winning case management company where I have worked for the last nine years. In that role I have successfully completed the Brain, Spinal and Catastrophic Injury Case Management Pathway and I liaise and work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to implement strategies that allow clients to manage their difficulties and maximise their recovery.
As a Lead Case Manager I mentor less experienced case managers.
