As an expert witness you will use your years of specialist knowledge and skills to provide your professional opinion in quality reports to the Court. You will have the opportunity to enhance your professional reputation and maximise your potential.

We provide expert reports all over the UK and Worldwide, so wherever you are based this flexible freelance role may suit you. We welcome applications from both experienced clinicians currently providing expert reports and also from clinicians making their first steps into expert work.

 We are seeking experienced practitioners from the following professions preferably with a minimum of 10 years post-qualification clinical experience:

  • Occupational therapy
  • Nursing
  • Midwifery
  • Physiotherapy
  • Speech and language therapy
  • Vocational therapy

 We would be very interested to hear from experts with experience in the following clinical settings: 

  • Lymphoedema
  • Prison nurses
  • General orthopaedics
  • Paediatric occupational therapy

You would work on a when instructed self-employed basis. The work can either be part-time, maybe in addition to your main clinical role, or full time.

For experts reporting on breach of duty cases, the work will involve reviewing documents and writing a comprehensive report providing opinion on the standard of care/practice in each case.

Experts reporting on quantum would usually visit the client at home and undertake a thorough assessment, review medical and non-medical evidence, and write a comprehensive report detailing condition, past and future needs and recommendations to meet needs, to include costs.

Casework will also involve attending case conferences with solicitors and barristers, either in person or on the telephone, responding to queries raised, commenting on additional documents provided by the lawyers, joint discussions with other experts and preparing statements, and court attendance.
