Profile
I have been an occupational therapist since 1996 and have broad experience of working in many roles in the healthcare sector. I am a confident and compassionate communicator and problem solver.
I have worked in London and Dorset social services, holding community caseloads of children, adults, or older people. I have worked in hospital falls clinics, blue badge assessments, and wheelchair services. I have also worked in private office ergonomics.
I have worked in NHS adult mental health. I have worked for a social services multidisciplinary Learning Disabilities Team providing support to care homes. I have also facilitated holidays for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities. I have also worked as an advocate for students with autism aged 7-17 living in residential care/schools.
I currently work in private practice providing neuromotor programmes (Step up to Learn, Move Play Thrive, tackling the hidden, immature reflexes experienced by children and adults with neurodiverse conditions.
I also work as a specialist mentor for university students with autism/ ADHD and personality disorders.
I prepare Civil procedure complaint, expert witness, or quantum liability reports for the court on a wide range of injuries in personal injury and clinical negligence cases.
The types of injuries/ conditions I report on include: Dementia, Autism, Learning Disabilities, Mental Health Conditions
I complete assessments of home environments and make recommendations for future care, equipment and adaptations, in order to maximise a person’s quality of life and independence within their home or supported accommodation.
My various role shave all involved assessment of daily living, cognition, functional capability, limb function and functional mobility and social needs.
