Profile

I have over 30 years’ experience as a registered nurse specialising in Occupational Health, Orthopaedics and Mental Health. I provide specialist occupational health services to several companies including OHS Gibraltar as a consultant regarding SEQOHS (Standards of Excellence in Occupational Health Services) and advice.

I have been instrumental in designing, planning, and implementing adjustments for clients. I can advise on steps needed to overcome barriers to enable individuals to return to gainful employment, identifying suitable occupations and evaluating work capacity for return to work.

I previously worked for BHSF providing vocational rehabilitation reports and health surveillance such as audiometry, HAVS and Spirometry and have qualifications in all these disciplines. I was the lead OHA for industries including Heavy Manufacturing Construction, Food Manufacturing and Government.

I am currently studying for a Masters in the Psychology of Mental Health.

Prison nurse, Magaberry Prison.

Forensic investigator, PSNI, and have 15 years’ experience providing reports and statements, and regularly presenting evidence in both the Criminal and Coroners Court and received report and courtroom training skills as part of my training with the National Training Centre for Scientific Support, Durham.

I ran a business assessing and treating back pain and sports injuries on a referral system from consultants and GPs.

I am skilled in risk/hazard identification ensuring a safe working environment and am trained in HAVS, audiology and spirometry.

I regularly undertake training to ensure my skills and knowledge are current and to maintain my professional development.

I prepare medico-legal reports on nursing care, breach of duty, and vocational rehabilitation. I have undergone training in the role of an expert witness and understand my duties under the Civil Procedure Rules pertaining to Expert Witnesses and Part 35.
