Profile

I am a highly regarded nurse in the fields of Occupational Health, Orthopaedics and Mental Health with over 30 years’ post qualification experience.  I provide specialist occupational health services to several companies including OHS Gibraltar as a consultant regarding SEQOHS (Standards of Excellence in Occupational Health Services) and advice.

I have been instrumental in designing, planning, and implementing adjustments for clients. I can advise on steps needed to overcome barriers to enable individuals to return to gainful employment, identifying suitable occupations and evaluating work capacity for return to work.

I previously worked for BHSF providing vocational rehabilitation reports and health surveillance such as audiometry, HAVS and Spirometry and have qualifications in all these disciplines.

I have 15 years’ experience providing reports and statements, and regularly presenting evidence in both the Criminal and Coroners Court. I received report and courtroom training skills as part of my training with the National Training Centre for Scientific Support, Durham.

I ran a business assessing and treating back pain and sports injuries on a referral system from consultants and GPs. I am skilled in risk/hazard identification ensuring a safe working environment and am trained in HAVS, audiology and spirometry.  I regularly undertake training to ensure my skills and knowledge are current and to maintain my professional development.

I prepare medico-legal reports on nursing care, breach of duty, and vocational rehabilitation. I have undergone training in the role of the expert witness and understand my duties under the Civil Procedure Rules pertaining to Expert Witnesses and Part 35.
