Profile

Carol has worked as a Brain Injury Case Manager since 2000 when she joined the Priory Health Care group.  In 2003, Carol returned home to Wales to set up the first registered Brain Injury Case Management company in Wales.

 

Carol has over 20 years’ experience of working with a wide range of adults, young people and children with complex cognitive, physical, polytrauma, and behavioural difficulties as a result of acquired and traumatic brain injuries; as well as their families.  Carol is also experienced in working with children and young people with acquired brain injuries from birth. 

 

Carol is known as a proactive Case Manager who is focused on maximising each client’s independence, and in reaching their individual potential.  She is professionally recognised and regarded as a highly empathic professional who takes the time to listen to the needs of each client and their family.  She can communicate effectively with all parties involved.

 

Carol is recognised as working to high standards in demanding situations, and to deadlines. She has excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

 

She has wide and proven experience in working with solicitors, barristers and insurers on both sole and joint instruction.

 

Carol was a founder member of Headway Carmarthenshire and is currentlyan active Executive Committee member. 

 

She was also instrumental in developing links with the Brain Injury Research Trust, and their subsequent development of services in Wales. 

 

Carol is a Fellow of the Institute of Welfare, Director and Vice Chair. 

 

She is a practising Case Manager affiliated to the British Association of Brain Injury Case Managers. 

 

Carol has received expert witness training and understands the litigation process and her duties under the Civil Procedure Rules pertaining to expert witnesses and Part 35.
