Profile

I am a Senior Nurse with over 20 years of experience in the Community and as a Specialist Practitioner in District Nursing with a V100 Supplementary prescribing qualification.

My areas of specialist interest are clinical care in District Nursing, specifically tissue viability and pressure area care, palliative and end of life care with symptom management and bladder and bowel care.

I am Director and Lead Nurse of my own private Ear Wax Removal business, offering Microsuction and Irrigation within my private clinic and at the client’s own home.  The business is CQC registered for adults and children over 4.

I also have a keen interest in safeguarding vulnerable adults and have been involved with local and national safeguarding organisations, supporting carers within client’s own homes and within Nursing/Residential homes, to improve patient care and safety, and involvement in mental capacity and deprivation of liberties safeguarding assessments.

I have considerable experience of clinical leadership for patients with complex health needs, supporting the delivery of expert clinical care, within both day and out of hours multidisciplinary teams.

As a District Nursing Case Load Manager, I hold overall responsibility for a caseload of patients and am responsible for the assessment, care planning and implementation of programmes of care to meet patient’s physical, social, emotional and environmental needs, to ensure a rehabilitative and self care approach where possible

I have experience of management responsibilities for human and financial resources, and have a sound understanding of the writing and implementation of clinical SOPs and policies.

I was awarded the title of Queen’s Nurse by the Queen’s Nursing Institute in 2012, for my commitment to ensuring excellent patient care and the promotion of high level patient care, within the Community, through my own clinical practice alongside the mentorship and support of pre registration nursing students.
