Profile

I am a nurse with over 14 years of experience in trauma-surgical care, burns, elective and trauma plastic surgery, ENT (including adjusted airways), and district nursing. I have established and managed a community care service under the Care Quality Commission.

I provide nursing consultancy to case managers, registered managers, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) for clients with complex needs such as adjusted airways, tube feeding, and skin integrity issues and a variety of nursing and mobility equipment. As an independent nurse advisor, I manage a caseload of clients with various complex problems, conduct assessments, and recommend safe community management, collaborating with other health professionals to provide holistic care.

I have experience managing and developing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring clients' safety in the community. I am actively involved in the Continuing Healthcare (CHC) process, from Decision Support Tool (DST) assessments to appeals, and I have participated in high-level discussions on care services provision.

My nursing experience and interests include:

·          Amputation and replants

·          Spinal injuries

·          Brain injuries

·          Complex care(ventilation, adjusted airway, tube feeding, catheterisation)

·          Tissue viability and wound care (specialist burns dressings, leeching therapy,   vacuum therapy, pressure ulcer care, and vacuum drains).

I keep updated through face-to-face learning, online webinars, and literature reviews. I advise and train nurses, care managers, and care assistants in the private and NHS sectors. I work with ICBs for commissioned care packages, Personal Health Budgets (PHBs), and statutory care services. I am committed to providing excellent care and support, ensuring my practice remains current.

I have undergone training in the medico legal process and I am fully aware of myresponsibilities under the Civil Procedure Rules pertaining to expert witnesses.
