Profile

I am a Registered Children’s Nurse with over 22 years’ experience with teaching and prescribing qualifications. I have 15 years’ experience within Children’s Community Nursing in which I specialise clinically in children and young people with complex and palliative care needs from a wide range of specialities including birth/ brain injury, oncology, congenital conditions, and severe disabilities.

I have experience as a Nurse Assessor in the private sector assessing and managing packages of care for both children and adults with very complex health needs. I am also now a case manager.

As the Team Leader for Children’s Community Nursing and Matron for all Paediatric services, my responsibilities included clinical leadership and management of various teams, providing clinical supervision, managing all HR procedures including disciplinaries, managing staffing, complaints, incidents, and risks and managing budgets. I was the lead for children’s palliative care within the trust, attending various regional forums, and completing child death reviews. I have written various trust policies and was the lead Nurse for children’s continuing care assessments.

During the pandemic I worked as a Senior Clinical Advisor at NHS111 assessing health needs of both children and adults as well as advising specifically on the Covid guidance from the government to both the public and private sector care providers on issues such as isolation etc.

My most recent NHS role has been as the Regional Children’s Advance Care Planning Nurse, leading a project to improve advance care planning across the Yorkshire and Humber region for children with life limiting and life-threatening conditions. This includes educating Doctors, Nurses, and other professionals, writing and implementing policy across all organisations with the region.

I am also an Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner with 8 years’ experience. I have completed the Level 7Aesthetic Medicine qualification and run my own clinic, prescribing, and administering various injectable aesthetic products and skin treatments. I also run a training company, delivering courses on various facial procedures across the country.
