Profile
I have over 25 years of experience of working in occupational therapy with children and young people with complex needs. I have 10 years of experience in case management working with children and families who have complex injuries.
I continue to work both as an occupational therapist and case manager.
I support the direct employment of support workers as well as work collaboratively with care agencies to deliver care to children and young people.
I continue to work collaboratively with multi -disciplinary teams to support the rehabilitation and care of children and young people.
I have 19 years’ experience of working in the NHS, I have worked in Educational, Social Care Settings and charities working with children with acquired and developmental neurological disabilities.
I have worked extensively with looked after children/children placed in care relating to early childhood trauma.
I have skills in risk assessment, housing needs and neuro-sensory occupational therapy.
I am skilled in supporting care teams to deliver care in complex cases. I have and currently support the direct employment of carers with current cases.
My current interests are considering delivery of care and therapy within safe home environments to ensure quality of life, promotion of child development as well as creating a supportive environment for parents/carers to deliver care and support to their child.
I consider myself a caring and focused individual who aims to achieve the best possible outcome for the families I work with. I strive to ensure that I have supported families to develop the resilience to care for their children and have a life - care balance.
I understand the litigation process and my duties under the Civil Procedure Rules pertaining to expert witnesses and Part 35. Fundamental to my work as an expert witness is to consistently act with fairness and integrity, utilising my advanced skill set and building upon my philosophy of delivering a high standard of safe, equitable and effective care for all.
