Profile

Dimitra is a dedicated Ophthalmic Nurse Practitioner and an Expert Witness for Maggie Sargent & Associates and has over 11 years of post-qualifying experience working with adults with a variety of eye conditions across all subspecialties and clinical settings in Ophthalmology.

In her current role as an Ophthalmic Nurse Practitioner, Dimitra runs independently nurse led intravitreal injection clinics. She also works in the Eye Casualty effectively triaging, examining, diagnosing, treating, and discharging a variety of ophthalmic conditions according to NICE guidelines.  

Dimitra has been delivering intravitreal injections since 2016 and has experience in delivering Botox injections as well as performing minor procedures in Adnexal and Oculoplastics Services.

She has great experience in managing ophthalmic emergencies since 2017 and she had the opportunity to influence and provide clinical leadership for the development of knowledge, ideas, and work practice. During her managerial role in Eye Casualty, she updated and developed the local triage system, guidelines, and flow processes.

Aside from her clinical skills, Dimitra has experience in organising and delivering teaching sessions and interactive workshops to help nurses and allied health professionals at different levels of practice to update their clinical skills and practice within the Eye Casualty, Medical Retina and Oculoplastics Service.
