I am a senior nurse with over 10 years experience working in the community both as a nurse and as a manager of services.

My area of specialist interest is District Nursing with specific interests in tissue viability, pressure area care, end of life care and falls.

Within my current role I am responsible for the management of a large multi disciplinary team delivering nursing and therapy care to patients within the local community which includes patients own homes residential homes and nursing homes.

As a manager within the community I have experience in complex case management for patients with multiple co morbidities and complex social situations.  I pride myself in ensuring a high level of care is delivered in a safe, effective and holistic way which meets the patients and family needs. I hold responsibility for both routine community care and urgent community care to avoid hospital admission or facilitate early discharge from hospital.  I also have experience in managing patient flow through community step up/ step down beds and work closely with the providers of these beds.

I also have experience in human resource management and processes and hold a strong understanding of the writing of policies and SOP’s and the implementation of these.

Alongside this I was awarded the title of Queens Nurse by the Queens Nursing Institute in 2021 for my commitment to community services and ensuring high level patient care is delivered.
