Profile
I am a Specialist Neurological Physiotherapist with over two decades of experience working across private, NHS, and voluntary sectors both in the UK and internationally. My expertise spans a wide range of complex and non-complex neurological conditions and disabilities.
During my NHS career, I have held several leadership roles, including Clinical Therapy Lead, Physiotherapy Professional Lead for Neurological Services, and Clinical and Professional Lead for Integrated Care. I have led therapy services across various NHS organisations, shaping and improving neurorehabilitation care.
As a Clinical Director and treating therapist of a private physiotherapy practice, I oversee a team of specialist neurological physiotherapists providing home-based and care home services across the southeast of England. My work includes consultancy in complex neurorehabilitation cases, supporting patients with traumatic brain injuries, spinal injuries, and other neurological conditions.
I have completed a master’s level module in Injection Therapy using Botulinum Toxin and have co-led multiple spasticity clinics alongside rehabilitation consultants. My additional expertise includes balance rehabilitation, gait re-education, posture management, spasticity management, and functional electrical stimulation.
I am highly involved in teaching and have been delivering training extensively in the UK and abroad on Balance Rehabilitation for physiotherapists and occupational therapists. I have also presented at multiple professional conferences.
In my current role in a Community NHS Trust, my responsibilities include mentoring and supervising physiotherapists and interdisciplinary team members. I work closely with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams to ensure the best patient outcomes.
I understand my duties as an expert witness under the Civil Procedure Rules and have undertaken specialist training in this role. I regularly participate in professional development to ensure my expertise remains up to date.
