I have 25 years of International experience as a registered nurse specialising in Occupational Health.
I have nursed in both private and public hospitals in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand in industries including Hospitals, Schools, Corporate, Insurance, Food Manufacturing, Rail, and Information Technology.
I have also worked extensively in hospitals throughout my career working in medical and surgical wards, A & E, outpatients, neurosurgical, Orthopaedics, Plastic and Burns unit.

As a Registered nurse and an Occupational health nurse I have worked extensively in case managing clients from injury prevention to nursing in the community, rehabilitation and returning clients to their activities of daily living. I have been instrumental in designing, planning, and implementing plans for clients. I can advise on steps needed to overcome barriers to enable individuals to return to gainful employment, identifying suitable occupations and evaluating work capacity for return to work.
I am skilled in risk/hazard identification ensuring a safe working or home environment.
In 1999 I was senior nurse at a Burns Unit when the London bomb attack occurred, dealing with severe wounds and fatal injuries. I also worked on the first HIV/AIDS ward at The Royal Free Hospital London and at that time when treatment was still experimental the focus was on Palliative care.
I regularly undertake training to ensure my skills and knowledge are current and to maintain my professional development.
I currently work as a Nurse Consultant for Kerry, a Global Food Industry with over 1,000 employees. My job consists of managing complex case management, sickness absence, rehabilitation, return to work, employment relations, health surveillance and a nurse-led clinic for injuries, treatments, psychological issues etc.
I also do consultancy work with Health Matters Northern Ireland, which takes me around Ireland and Northern Ireland doing pre-employment, case management and health surveillance, and return to work. I am also the Child Safeguard Officer and Health and Safety Officer at Newbridge Town Football Club.
