Graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Pre-reg MSc in Physiotherapy in 2011. Over the years of being qualified I have worked and developed my specialist neurological skills within an acute non trauma and trauma neuro setting, alongside a hyper acute and acute stroke and currently work within a Level 1 neuro rehabilitation setting and continue to enhance my skills within this field of work. This allows me to practice and maintain my continuing professional development and keep up date with relevant and up to date research

  • Profound and grounded experience of working alongside Occupational Therapists, Orthotists, SALTs and the Clinical Psychologist, as well as nurses and highly specialised doctors on a daily basis.  
  • Enhanced physiotherapeutic rehabilitation specialist skills for the traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury patients, such as, PDOCs, multifaceted MSK injuries alongside brain injuries, and managing complex tone and spasticity and onsite splint making.  
  • Daily management of tracheostomy patient(s), leading with tracheostomy weaning of caseload and treating and managing the acutely unwell respiratory compromised patient.  
  • Enhanced non clinical skills; key working and leading meetings and the rehabilitation and discharge pathway(s).  
  • Manage, supervise and upskill non-qualified and qualified staff (PTAs, students, B5s).  
  • Participate with maintaining skills and keeping up to date with current research and guidelines with regular inhouse and external teaching and training within an INRU setting, alongside regular auditing and review of outcomes.  
  • Formal report writing for caseload, on-going referrals into the Community, and managing the medico-legal aspect of caseload.
