Profile
I qualified as a nurse 40 years ago and since 2012, I have worked with spinal cord injury patients. I am a case manager for clients with spinal cord injuries and have a passion for pioneering advancements in spinal cord injury awareness and treatment.
I trained as a nurse in the 1980swhen General Management replaced Consensus Management in the NHS. I helped to run A&E departments in London during the 1980s before going to Durham University to study for a degree in Sociology.
In 2016 I became a sister in a local nursing home and then a rehabilitation unit, providing nursing care for spinal injury patients. In 2020 I trained in spinal cord injury – both acute and rehabilitation, at the Midlands Centre for Spinal Injuries and in 2021 I was headhunted to join a private firm teaching about spinal cord injury in the community, training for this role at Stoke Mandeville. In 2023 I assisted setting up a start-up spinal complex care firm in London.
I have worked in the community, in nursing homes, and in rehabilitation units with spinal cord injury patients. I am passionate about sustainable health both in mind and body, and have trained to teach yoga, which I now teach to spinal patients. I have been involved in spearheading educational initiatives and learning programs.
I understand my duties under the Civil Procedure Rules pertaining to expert witnesses and Part 35. I regularly attend training updates and seminars to maintain my professional development.
