Profile

I am Richard Corner, an experienced Registered Children's Nurse with a career of over ten years across various health care settings, specialising in paediatric critical care and community care. As a Clinical Lead, I've deepened my expertise in managing complex paediatric cases and enhancing community care services.

My professional journey commenced at The Royal Cornwall Hospital in the children's accident and emergency department, subsequently advancing my skills in the Intensive Care Unit at Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

In my current role as a paediatric clinical lead, I apply my extensive knowledge of paediatric health care. My skills are in delivering exceptional care to children with complex needs and long-term ventilation requirements, performing risk assessments, and directing nursing and health care assistant teams within the community. My proficiency in quality and governance allows me to impart expert clinical advice and tailor national guidelines for local application.

As a Clinical Lead, I have cultivated an ethos of ongoing professional development, providing managerial and professional guidance, and creating a nurturing environment for junior colleagues. I am able to lead teams across diverse care packages of care, ensuring the services provided are centred around the patient and adhere to the relevant national standards.

I am well-versed in preparing civil procedure complaint reports for court proceedings, covering a broad spectrum of injuries in personal injury and clinical negligence cases. I adhere to the Civil Procedure Rules governing expert witnesses and Part 35, demonstrating a commitment to professional standards and ethical practices.
