This led to her managing her own business to work predominantly with law firms and banks in mitigating risks and implementing improvement plans for private nursing and care home providers where regulatory enforcements had been instigated.
Sandra worked for over 5years as a clinical advisor and panel member to NHS England in relation to continuing healthcare funding decisions. She has co-edited a chapter entitled “The Management of Medicines” in a book published by Riley & Sons that was written for nursing and care home management on the topic of medicines management. She has also provided expert advice to TV producers working on medical-based scenes.
Sandra has worked as an Expert Nurse Witness for over 7-years supporting claims for breach of duty reports predominantly in nursing/care homes.
Sandra has worked for over 10years as a senior healthcare professional in police custody forensic medicine and is now the Governance and Development Lead at a national level for Care& Custody Health Limited (a Mitie Company).
Care & Custody Police Services predominantly provide forensic healthcare in police custody sites, however they also provide custody detention services, immigration services and sexual assault referral centres covering over 21 police forces in the UK.
Sandra’s role is to provide strategic oversight of compliance with clinical and integrated governance processes. Her role includes the management for all training and development to over 600 staff.
