Profile
I am an experienced occupational therapist and qualified in 2012. I have largely worked within Adult Social Care including project work around right sizing care packages with the use of equipment. I maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills by working in either clinical or management roles in Adult Social care.
I have an excellent understanding of current practice and costs that relate to individual needs following diagnosis of disability or following a traumatic life changing event regularly undertaking clinical work around the need for equipment, complex moving and positioning and completing reports to identify needs and costs of equipment and ongoing care.
In January 2025 I co-authored the Moving and positioning chapter in the 8th edition of the textbook: Occupational Therapy for people experiencing illness, injury or impairment.
My experience includes setting up and running Moving and Positioning sessions for carers and OT’s, facilitating CPD sessions to other OTs and support staff, acting as project lead on reducing long term care packages regarding single handed care, and acting as DLF Workshop facilitator for Bariatric Moving and Positioning (2019).
I am highly skilled in seating / postural management, the moving and positioning of people, as well as excellent understanding and knowledge of neurological and spinal conditions and both lower and upper limb amputation.
In addition to my clinical role, I provide expert witness reports for the court.
