Working for UHDB Healthcare Trust in an inpatient setting covering, Accidents and Emergencies, MAU, Short Stay Medical wards and Elderly Medicine. Providing enhanced discharge planning programmes and promoting admission avoidance. As part of our service we also provide out-patient follow up equipment and access visits, supporting people to live at home, advising on aids and adaptations within the home for functional independence and arranging long-term community services. Assessing for and providing therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation for people with a range of health conditions including physical, cognitive impairment, social and mental health needs.

During my employment with UHDB and alongside my post on A+E (since 2014) I also worked as a senior therapist for 4 years in the specialist area of Cancer and Surgery. Covering the Oncology wards, Haematology, Nightingale Macmillan unit and Surgical and Women's Health wards. Assessing for and providing Therapeutic intervention programmes, including rehabilitation and complex discharge planning. I also had specialist training in Palliative and End of Life care and the functional needs of these clients, advising on aids and adaptations within the home for functional independence and arranging long-term community services.
